Hello!

My name is Elise Anderson.
I'm an Australian artist living in Los Angeles, and welcome to my page.

A little about myself:

I create original mixed-media artworks on reclaimed wood using acrylic paint, gel medium, and oil sticks. Every piece is painted by hand and is completely one of a kind.

I've always believed that art should bring something positive to a room. A little warmth, a little personality, a little joy. While I admire serious art, I've never been particularly interested in creating work that feels intimidating or difficult to connect with. I want my paintings to feel approachable, expressive, and full of life.

Colour is probably the thing I care about most. I spend too much time thinking about colour combinations and how they make us feel. Long before a painting is finished, I'm usually obsessing over palettes, adjusting tones, and searching for that balance between harmony and surprise.

And, if you know me, even a little, you already know I have a big thing for texture. I love surfaces that show the artist's hand, grooves and peaks that reveal themselves differently throughout the day as light moves across them. The shadows, imperfections, and layers are often my favourite part of a piece.

Many of my paintings include playful characters, simple storytelling, and a touch of humour. I like the idea that a piece of art can make someone smile every time they walk past it.
