I've always loved the idea of artwork feeling more like an object than simply something hanging on a wall.
This piece began as a drawing on stained reclaimed wood before being cut apart and reconnected with chrome chain. I was interested in creating something that felt slightly deconstructed and imperfect while still remaining balanced and calm.
The colour combination is one I've become a little obsessed with lately - a rich oxblood wood tone paired with a soft pistachio green line. Depending on the light, the stained surface reveals different layers, colours, and textures beneath.
One of a kind and created entirely by hand in Los Angeles.

I’ve always loved the way certain colour combinations seem to vibrate against one another. This piece grew from an obsession with pairing a soft periwinkle blue line against a rich burgundy stained wood surface.
The bull is deliberately simple. I wasn’t interested in realism so much as capturing a feeling. Something calm, slightly strange, slightly charming, and full of personality. The wood veining remains very visible beneath the painting, allowing the grain, imperfections, and layered stain to become part of the final piece. At the end of the day, I hope this piece does what I hope all of my work does: bring warmth, colour, and a little bit of joy to the room it lives in.
